Byosoku Go Senchimetoru

.. a film by Makoto Shinkai. It translates into 5 centimeters per second. The speed at which cherry blossoms fall, petals being a metaphorical representation of humans, reminiscent of the slowness of life and how people often start together but slowly drift into their separate way. This movie 60 minute movie is broken into 3 chapters. The first chapter was released a few months ago for download and the rest of the movie showed in cinema and just recently the rest of the movie came out on DVD.

Screencaps from the movie.

The clean artwork added to how good this movie was and the realism of the characters is what made this movie truly amazing. It’s heartwarming and the story is told very well. The character development was good and you really felt the pain the characters was experiencing. The soundtrack is amazing and the music fit the mood.

I personally enjoyed this movie those who have an open mind on things should check it out as well. Although I was a little disappointed at the end.. was rather shocked more than anything. A rather sad ending but kind of expected just by reading the first paragraph. Who said guys can’t be sensitive? The movie was still overall good. If you’re anything like me.. do yourself a favour and watch the last chapter again. It will remedy what you’re probably feeling. Just remember.. he smiles at the end.

I guess this comment is a bit late, but I just wanted to say that I loved this movie as well. It’s heartwarming and heart wrenching at the same time. I was surprised how much I was pulled into the story, movies/anime doesn’t usually have that affect on me. I can’t wait for the DVD in December!
