Planetarian ~the Reverie of a Little Planet~

I just went through this visual novel by Key/VisualArt and I’d have to say it was really good. Now you think when I say visual novel, it would have adult situations and all that. Wrong. There is none what so ever. Unlike most visual novels, you can’t pick paths or anything like that for multiple endings. You can go in only one direction and there is only one ending. Planetarian came out in 2005 so it isn’t exactly new to the world. To be honest, I’ve been putting it off for some time.

The original cover.

The main focus character here is a little robot girl named Reverie. She is the hostess of a planetarium to an empty city caused by wars and world conflicts. Told by her program to greet guests, she eagerly waits for the next customer to come in and watch her show.

As you progress through the story, you can’t help but feel sorry for her. Her adorable nature grows on you over time. When she begins to think a little more on her own, her own free thoughts.. it just makes you feel even more sad. A story to almost make you want to cry.

Although you can easily read this through in about less than 2 hours. It is worth reading. The small soundtrack really gets you into it and at times, suits the nature of little Reverie.

I can’t believe I didn’t pick it up sooner. I guess the next one to pick up would be Ever17 or maybe one with hent.. something with more mature content.
