Halloween Update

No real change when it came to making this blog look seasonal.. not worth it since the reader base is only a few people who mostly does not comment anyways.

I have come across this very annoying bug or something like that where my RSS feed is not being updated on SnapShots/Previews. After I decided to change my perma-link structure. It hasn’t been working correctly. Finding nothing on the WP forums that could help with that. I’m going to change it back to the old permalink structure if I can’t figure it out soon.Another thing I have to do would be to place a featured feed section on the new theme I plan to use. That is pretty much the only thing I got to get done before the transition. I still have to talk to my.. coding adviser for suggestions before I do anything.Updating to a new version of WP is always a pain.
After I get that done, I can stop being lazy and start posting some more. I already have some material ready to be used.

So I’m reading a forum I normally lurk at and I happen to stumble across this awesome thread.

Updating stuff

Slowing editing a nice theme I seen a little while ago.
Will get it up as soon as I add the things I need on it.
My code monkey is slacking… or busy with other stuff. I’d like the think the former.

Prism Ark

I’m still alive! It has been a busy week for me and going to get harder next and because of that, I’ve had the last week to download a lot and now have quite an amount of unwatched items. Today, I decided to take a look at Prism Ark. Again, this is another anime based on a eroge game. YAY! Must download that now!

The setting seems to be in a medieval like setting with magic and stuff. Taking place in a continent similar to that of Europe. There seems to be a war happening for some reason. I have no idea what’s going on.

This season seems to be quite a busy one with many notable titles and by well known companies and directors. I feel that I should share this unnecessary list of my current watch list this season, last, and things I just picked up randomly. Perhaps, even make a ‘I need to download x series’ list. Just depends on how I feel after I make my list.

There were several other first episodes I wanted to comment on but being the lazy and busy person that I am. I will combine them all into a single post. I hope that with this, I don’t run out of material for a while. I am also going to post the raw pictures. Taking the screen caps was troublesome enough.

Here we go. I will start with old anime that has not quite finished yet. I will exclude certain animes that has gone over the 100 episode mark and D Gray.

The old stuff

• Baccano

An unique anime that takes place around and events leading up to a massive train homicide. Focusing on several characters and their part in this event.

Again, I found another gem off of Kotaku.

Japanese developers Idea Factory and RED bring us Record of Agarest War, the “Soul Breed” strategy RPG. Players capture the hearts of game heroines to “create” a successor. When this happens, there is a “special” movie that’s shown. The new successor is then revealed.

A strategy game for the PS3 that requires.. breeding? Those crazy Japanese.
With an anime like style artwork and a high chance of adult content. This game could have been made for the PS2 looking at the technology they used. I strongly doubt that the game will be localized here though. A real shame too.. it looks like it is going to be so fun to play. It has that Disgaea feel to it but I doubt it will be as comical. I’m looking for more artwork and official screenshots to be posted on the main site. And game play videos from gametrailers.com.

If Metal Gear Solid 4, Fatal Frame 4 , Disgaea 3, Silent Hill 5 and Grand Theft Auto 4 isn’t enough reasons to dish out a big wad of cash for a PS3. Still need to wait it out. There are no games I really want to play on the PS3 at the moment so I don’t think I feel the need to buy one at this moment. Not that I have that much time to absorb myself into a game for 10 or more hours. Oh woe.. How I wish I did.

I found this gem while reading the Kotaku blog. And it, in my view, deserves a repost.

Sundance

This upbeat song has made me fall in love with guitar once again. Too bad I hate my current guitar.. but then again.. you get what you paid for.

The song was originally composed by Kotaro Oshio. A Japanese folk acoustic guitarist. One of those artists that a guitarist should know. He isn’t like Andy Mckee (spelling?) where he slaps the string every couple of beats. I admit that it isn’t an easy thing to do but it just gets kind of boring to watch and listen to after a while. I just like the style of playing Oshio does. Utilizing the “Boom Chick”, a technique coined by Tommy Emmanuel.

Anyways.. here are other songs I like by him played by cozyoskjp (Japan).

The wave of new anime keeps coming. With so many new things to watch. The other series this season that everyone was waiting for has been released. And Shana has never looked so good (in HD).

You know when you’re too into school when you look forward to the weekend in order to get your homework and get a lot of studying done. While many families are together giving thanks to something or people leaving town to visit loved ones. I’m living my life like it is just like any other weekend. With two deadlines coming up in the middle of the week and a midterm next week. Here I am.. trying to divert from doing work and just thinking about the winter break. Although I’m in a seminar room trying to get some studying done. I can say that I get a lot more done here than at home where I would probably just lie on my bed and try to sleep wrapped in several layers of blankets.

Schedule for my weekend.

Da Capo II

I’ve watched the first series and I moderately enjoyed it. I stopped watching the second season in the middle because I couldn’t stand this certain character whom I don’t remember the name of. And since several things such as games, anime, and movies crappier when a sequel or a continuation is followed. I truly don’t expect much from it. But being a sucker for harem anime, I have to give it a try.

It shouldn’t be a mystery that this was based off a hentai game. Which was based on another popular bishoujo game which shares a similar name. Sequel to the first, it has been the culprit that stole the sleep of countless nerds that played the game and angered many more when the anime did not follow the Kotori storyline. The story here takes place a half a century after Da Capo and second season.

Clannad

And the hugely anticipated anime by VisualArt’s/Key is out. The company alone is enough to make you want to watch it. Well known for their previous titles. Usually with a strong story behind them, cast of cute and sometimes sexy girls but (sadly) generic female roles, and their clean animation style. I never played this game before.. mainly because it is quite difficult to obtain. That and I cannot read Japanese. But after watching the first episode. I’m already in love with this show.

Did I mention about their cast of females? Disgustingly cute.

Myself; Yourself

Instead of doing my chemistry lab report. I’ve decided to watch something. The start of the new anime season is a busy time… having to download several new series to see whether or not they are worth watching. Unable to read those kanji characters, I have no idea what to expect from the stuff I’m watching.

The first thing I downloaded was Myself; Yourself.
