Normally, this post should have been before the New Years but whatever. One of the reason why I make so few posts is because I feel that I need to get a picture to put with every post I make.. especially if it is from an anime. I usually get so lazy to do that and well.. it goes on from there.. I will attempt to get some more material out in the next days and maybe weeks. Possibly around the time when more anime comes out. I just hope something good comes out this winter… the current line up doesn’t look too interesting.

There has been a few good anime last year. Particularly this fall season. I’ve complied a short list of the ones I truly enjoyed.
Clannad After Story

Here’s my gift to you all!
Children.
This is the best gift I can give you right now.
A gift without shape called memory.
I don’t have any money.
I can’t buy you anything with shape.
Even so, even without a form, memory will prevail forever!
I believe that it will.
This moment is so GAR, it would be wrong for me to not put it.
Let’s face it. Just about everyone is watching this.

Character development on some of the side characters such as Sunohara. Which would be the best one in this series so far where Sunohara and Tomoya fight in the rain.. making girls cry. Quite a manly moment right?
Kannagi

It is just enjoyable. It’s funny. The characters are silly. Ranked #2 on my list.
The charm it carries is quite difficult for me to describe.

Toradora!
My favourite of 2008.

I didn’t even need to think about my choice. There is something about this anime that draws appeals to me. There is no way a person can dislike it.
As cliche as it may sound, one of the things that made me want more of the anime would be the characters. I don’t want to describe each character in general but I will get to the main points I feel is necessary to get my point across.
Ryuji Takasu, the protagonist, is just one of those likable characters. He’s a hard worker and has many misfortunes in his life. I feel that he’s one of those characters that you just want to succeed.
Taiga Aisaka is suppose to be the main heroine of the anime but I don’t feel like she has grown on to me as the other characters.
Minori Kushieda is an upbeat, hard working, sporty type girl… although she’s a bit of an airhead.. ditzy you might say. Taiga’s best friend and Ryuji’s love interest. My favourite character in the series. There is just something about her.. reminds me of someone I know….
Yusaku Kitamura – Ryuji’s best friend and Taiga’s love interest. Not much can be said about him… has a cool attitude and misinterprets many thing. Looks out for friends. One can say that he’s a true bro.
Ami Kawashima – The flirty idol who also has an interest for Ryuji. She turns out to be rather selfish and self centered but there is something else that makes me interested…

There are light novels however…it would be my first to pick a light novel. I should also pick up the Haruhi one as well since it is quite hype.

Also, I love the ED song. So catchy.
Honourable Mentions
There are other stuff I liked this year… although I don’t think I should really call it honourable.. I just needed a name.
- Penguin Musume Heart
- Yakushiji Ryouko no Kaiki Jikenbo
- To Aru Majutsu no Index
I didn’t really watch that much anime this year to be honest… Maybe it is because I’m getting old or something. Or possibly there is just way too much crap out there. Whatever it is.. if it keeps up.. I will have to start writing about something else.
I still have many things to watch such as Geass, Vampire Knight, and Soul Eater. A few more otaku things for me to get done. Persona 4… yes.
And Happy New Year!
PS: When I reviewed my list for the last time before posting.. I realize that most of them are romance comedies. And in recent days, I’ve been reading manga in similiar genres. I guess I am no longer as manly as I made myself out to be.
Minori is best.
