So I just watched Dance in the Vampire Bund and I am one of those people that pays attention to detail.. and I noticed a few things that kinda bothered me. I don’t really have anything better to do so I will nitpick a bit.
The first piece of evidence are these bit marks.

This pattern just does not make sense. I don’t see how it is possible to bite a person in such a way so that the markings is in a semi horizontal fashion. Think for a minute for where your canine teeth are located. Now try to orient yourself so that your canines will leave markings as shown above. If the victim is standing, you need to be taller and reach over their shoulder. The second case would be standing and their head is turned. How would a vampire even bite a person from that angle. Their head is leaning towards the victim’s head and that would leave little room for anything. If the bite mark closer towards the front of the body is higher. It would make a lot more sense.

Point of entry:

But what do I know? I’m not a vampire. I know nothing about biting into people so I am obviously talking out my ass here.
One other small point I noticed would be the amount of vampires they shown or speculated to be in Canada, or more specifically, in remote places.

I am generally under the assumption that vampires would tend to want to be in a place where there are a lot of people. A lot of people equals a lot more blood, right? The temperature way up north can get extremely cold and it isn’t exactly a favourable location to set up shop. Since it is so cold moving around and sucking blood in a thick winter jacket would be quite troublesome.. Who the hell would stay outside in that type of temperature anyways? Especially during the night.
The days will get longer the further you go north. There is even a time when the sun will not set at all and that should be one of their weakness right? I know what a “midnight sun” looks like and it isn’t that bright at all. But regardless, sunlight is still sunlight. For accuracy purposes, I would say that vampires are weak towards ultraviolet waves. I wouldn’t say inferred wave since we’re always being exposed to it constantly by the earth. This is just some observation I made and there isn’t any sort of inconsistency with saying that vampires are weak towards sunlight. It’s just me being more specific since I’m just like that (science student).
Oh right. The anime seems decent. Need more episodes for me to make a solid judgement to say whether or not it is good but I won’t be making a summary or anything in the future.
This post sucks.

I can give you a good reason to live up in Canada, or in Northern countries in general – lack of sunlight. Especially in the Arctic, where you can have whole weeks without sunlight, this would greatly increase the vampire’s ability to survive even if they have to bundle up to do so. Even in lower latitudes, there are areas which are pretty consistently cloudy, which would help increase survival chances of a lone vampire. One family with a serious porphyria situation ended up moving to British Columbia for that very reason, IIRC.

Oh, that map’s not the most retarded thing about this first episode… but I’ll save my rants on the subject for other areas. My god, but this was a fucking stupid way to start the series.
But one reason to live in Canada is probably the lack of vampire hunters, which given the setting of the series is a good thing. I’ll only spoil a little detail; the vampires are at war, and Europe’s one of the worst battlegrounds.

Got the urge to zap a BAD vampire with your iPhone? There’s an app for that now! The Vampire Buster app!

I would think that vamps are cold-blooded, cold wouldn’t exactly be a problem for them and in an area with less people? Less exposure to the human world, seclusion sounds good. As for blood source, they can travel farther I suppose…and in a place that cold, their skin tone should fit right in….just speculation of course^^
