Maybe I’ll watch Strike Witches but I think I should watch the first season.  Speaking of which, I need to watch Kiddy Grade s2 as well.

On a side note, there’s an anime convention in 2 weeks and I don’t expect it to be very good. But I’ll probably end up going just to troll myself.

So far, I’ve yet to see any whiny bitching made by the cast of characters like a few certain people from the previous Gundam series. This has been a major improvement because the last thing I want to hear would be XXXX crying out doing some super move that wins that battle and afterwards seeing a river of tears flowing down his face. Appearances of the characters do not bother me too much but it seems as if all the pilots are male this time around. Possibly to make it less emotional but all of them seem to look like stuck up pricks.

My mind is a bit hazy but I recall there being fewer Gundam pilots this time. Although the core specialty Gundams are still there.

Yes, that is correct. There is always one that specializes in speed and melee combat. Another one in long range and accuracy. Fire power and destruction. Since I have problems taking in little details, I shall stop here.

Now, for the real meat of the post.

Another thing we discussed that was brought to my attention was the story. Although the concept for this is good and I am still very interested as to how things will turn out.

In the last minutes of episode 2. We are find out the intentions of the group, Celestial Beings. To irradiate war from the world. A noble cause with the right intentions. But how do they intend on doing it?

The answer would be to become the enemy of everyone in the world. They have the most advanced technology at their disposal and the world is baffled as to how this group obtained the funding for it. To piss off the 3 governments ruling the current earth. It is a good idea to threaten them with their weaponry.

Now, keep in mind that I am making these claims before even watching the third episode. I might be way off and this post would have been for nothing.

I can see two possible ways for them to irradiate the world from war. We already seen them make the AEU’s top prototype mobile suit look like a child’s toy and it pissed off the pilot of that who may play an important role in future episodes. This by taking out the military of every possible nation in the entire world. This idea seems to be the most far fetched idea out of all of them because it will take too long. But if they do that, it will lead to the three world nations to form an alliance to go against them. But not without crippling one of their military.

The second would be to indiscriminately attack the citizens of the world. But that would be called terrorism, no?
This idea would work faster but I don’t think they would want to take the lives of innocent people. They already make it clear that they were not siding with a weaker, oppressed side like we’ve seen in Code Geass. (It’s a cool anime and I’m not making fun of it in any way)

Okay! Now, this sounds like an original idea for most but my friend mentioned something similar about the story.

If you are familiar with the Marvel and the X-Men series. The plot was actually the same in one of the arcs. In the comic book, Cable, one of the mutants, has come across a nuclear weapon and threatens to use it against the world. The world panics and decides to unite (permanently? I don’t know) to take him down. And that was his original goal. For the world to be at peace. But doing that, does not come at a cheap price. I pretty much means that he sacrifices his life in order to achieve this goal. A good reason to do so if it means unity.

I sense a similar type thing going on here. Again, mentioned in the last few minutes. You hear Setsuna say something along the lines of, “This is what a Celestial Being is about.”

Knowing well that this goal announced to the world that they with to eliminate war from the world. They would have to be the enemy of every single person on the earth. And knowing that being in this specific group will cost them their lives.

This goal they have seems a little difficult for me to take in. They will gain supporters who are tired of fighting. We’ve already seen that this union on the earth who wishes for the same thing could not achieve.

A major flaw in this theory. They cannot just simply lay down their weapons once they begin to work together. That would be extremely lame for the story. I am curious as to how they plan to do it. Even after I give my example. It is not a common plot. I am just over thinking this.

I guess this goes back to that old popular saying, “In order to achieve peace, you must prepare for war.”

The setting seems to be in a medieval like setting with magic and stuff. Taking place in a continent similar to that of Europe. There seems to be a war happening for some reason. I have no idea what’s going on.

I’m a man of few words so I will keep this short.

This anime gives off an RPG feeling, similar to as if you’re playing one of the original Dragon Quest games. Except better. You’re given fanservice, a party full of females, and they all appeal to whatever fetish people may have… for most at least. The artwork is decent. It’s usually the same when it comes to these game-anime remake. The soundtrack seems as if you would find it from a video game. Which I like.

The main plot hasn’t been revealed just yet. Only the history between Hyaweh and Priecia. This angers me deeply because I usually would like to know these things for this type of anime. All we know is that they going to fight more bad guys and the episode left off in a very anti climatic ending. But last screen capture pretty much looks like something you’d find from a poster or something.

At first, I thought it was going to be something awful like Shining Tears X Hearts or whatever it’s called. I forgot. But I’m rather enjoying it. Offering a cast of 90% females and with a bit of fanservice. How can I not enjoy it? How can these eroge game to anime remakes be bad? Oh wait.. “Gift”.

Add one to the watch list.

There were several other first episodes I wanted to comment on but being the lazy and busy person that I am. I will combine them all into a single post. I hope that with this, I don’t run out of material for a while. I am also going to post the raw pictures. Taking the screen caps was troublesome enough.

Here we go. I will start with old anime that has not quite finished yet. I will exclude certain animes that has gone over the 100 episode mark and D Gray.

• Baccano

An unique anime that takes place around and events leading up to a massive train homicide. Focusing on several characters and their part in this event.

• Sky Girl

Flat chested females flying robots or something.

The new stuff

• Bamboo Blade

It’s about an out of luck teacher who takes a bet with one of his friends to see whom has a better kendo team.

• Blue Drop

I have no idea what is going on. Seems like a supernatural anime hiding behind a ‘school life’ like anime. Not entirely sure if I want to continue watching this. I will give it a few more and I will make up my mind.

• Clannad

• Da Capo II

I am neutral towards this. Again.. it’s something to watch. Here is the previous post I made about it.

• Genshiken Season 2

Mostly about otakus. I haven’t watched the first season but I think I will pick it up during the winter break. I wanted to see what this is like and I wonder to myself why I stopped.

• Goshuusho-sama Ninomiyakun

Succubus. A character that looks like Len from Tsukihime. This offers a bit of comic relief and a lot of fanservice. I like fanservice. We all do.

• Gundam 00

I haven’t watched the first episode yet but I will certainly finish this series.

• Kimikiss Pure Rouge

One of those animes that will bother me A LOT. It has the whole KGNE feeling to it and leaves me wanting more at the end of each episode.

• Myself; Yourself

I written a post about it and said what I thought about it. Here it is.

• Rental Magica

A guy with a super eye or something like that. Spots weaknesses? Reminds me of Shiki Tohno from Tsukihime.

• ef – a tale of memories

I listed this last and put up several more screen caps mostly because of the feeling it gave off. If you read early on when I made a post about 5cm per second. I mentioned that the ending left and empty feeling in me for a few days. Some say that the director, Makoto Shinkai, has some part in it. When I was listening to the pianos playing during the black and white intro. I immediately thought of 5cm. This also seems to be a heavy favourite among those that enjoy the ‘slice of life’ animes. I certainly will enjoy watching this as much as I did the 5cm movie. I am lazy to do a summary myself so I will go ahead and link outwards to someone’s review on the episode. Subculture Anime Blog. Now looking at this list once again. The huge popular ones here that would very likely get about 2000 peers during release date would include: Clannad, Shana 2, ef – a tales of memories, Genshiken 2, and Gundam 00. I may have forgotten some on this list but it is already too late. The list is made, the screen caps are up, and the post is at this point. I’ve already gone too far. It’s already too late for me posting on other series I may or may not pick up.
Taking screen caps from avi files are a huge pain. I think I should switch to mkv. It’s too bad my graphics card blew up so I’m stuck using integrated right now. Everything feels so slow. I need a new computer.
This will probably be my last post in a while. With important deadlines coming up in the next two weeks. I shall focus on other priorities right now.

Both the Opening and Ending video was good. I really didn’t feel like compiling my own pictures so I just stole the ones off 2chan. Horray of pirates.

As you can see, a new villain has appeared. And I like her.. There’s something about demon girls that — to me. Those succubus’ are sexy. I do notice that animation quality has greatly improved since the last season (yay for HD) but even the SD quality was pretty damn good. I can keep praising this but I feel like I’ve been doing that too much.. getting quite tedious and boring since I’ve said it for everything I post about.

Ack.. I never thought I’d ever do something like this. Good thing I’m only doing this for only one time and not a episode by episode summary. Probably only 2 more series this season. Actually.. forget that.. no more. And yay for short posts!
