Instead of doing my chemistry lab report. I’ve decided to watch something. The start of the new anime season is a busy time… having to download several new series to see whether or not they are worth watching. Unable to read those kanji characters, I have no idea what to expect from the stuff I’m watching.

The first thing I downloaded was Myself; Yourself.

I am not too surprised at that I saw. I’ve seen this kind of start for many animes several times. It is just way too common. A flashback of the protagonist, Hidaka Sana, and his friends. It was made obvious early on as to who his main love interest is going to be in the series.

The opening song has an upbeat touch and judging by the logo and the opening credits. There seems to be an emphasis on music. Not a surprise too as to how his flashback ended.

Now fast forward, five years. And since I do not want to describe everything in detail and I don’t want to spoil in any way.. Although it isn’t like people read this anyways. I’ll cut right to the chase. He returns to his hometown. Before going to his apartment home, he goes around town. He goes to the shrine and sees a beautiful shrine girl who keeps staring at him. She flees when he notices. Obvious as to who that is. More stuff happens and episode ends.

A generic start isn’t it? The animation is, like all school life/romances, pretty good. Like mentioned before, the OP is very catchy. I like the nerdy, clumsy, glasses girl. Aoi.

I will keep watching it despite the predictable plot. Maybe it is the opening theme with a the main and supporting characters playing as a band. It’s a strange thing to notice but enough for me to continue. Oh and there are those fanservice parts. You know… Hot springs, beach, culture festival.

Next on my list, Da Capo II.
